Al-Marsad newspaper: Saudi writer Aisha Al-Mana revealed the story of not wearing an abaya when going to work at a middle school in Al-Khobar.

looking for a job

She said during an interview with Al-Arabiya channel: “After my return from America, I tried to work in the field of education, but I did not find a job. I applied to the civil service for employment, then my father contacted the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs to discuss my problem.”

She pointed out that after that, she was appointed principal of a school in Al-Khobar, and she only wore the abaya when entering the school door, due to the school’s proximity to the house.

She pointed out that the female students came to school one day without abayas, and the education representative came to the school and told her that the students were not wearing abayas and that this was a violation.

She added that she spoke with the students and explained to them that the system stipulates that they wear abayas in schools, and when the students told her that she did not wear the abaya, she explained to them that she had a certificate and if she did not work in school, she could work anywhere else, but if they were expelled, where would they go? Therefore, it is better to adhere to the instructions.
