Austrian Foreign Ministry Condemns Russian Attack on Village in Kharkiv Region

The Austrian Foreign Ministry summoned Dmitriy Lubinsky, Russian ambassador to Vienna, this Friday because of the attack by Russian forces on the village of Groza, in the Kharkiv region. This strike which occurred yesterday killed at least 52 people in this village which had only 330 inhabitants.

“The Russian ambassador in Vienna has just been summoned in connection with yesterday’s terrible rocket attack on a village in the Kharkiv region, which claimed the lives of dozens of innocent people. Attacks against the civilian population constitute a war crime. Those responsible must be brought to justice”indicated the Austrian ministry on X.

The ministry emphasized that by this “brutal attack on civilians, the Russian Federation has once again violated international humanitarian law” and that Austria and its partners will make every effort to bring to justice those responsible for war crimes.

As Ukrinform has already noted, yesterday, around 1:15 p.m. local time, Russia launched a missile attack on a small village of Groza in northern Ukraine. A food store and a cafe where 60 people gathered for a funeral commemoration of a Ukrainian soldier killed in combat, whose son, also a soldier, and wife perished in the bombing, were hit. This morning, the Russians launched an attack on the city of Kharkiv, leaving two people dead, including a child, and around thirty injured. According to preliminary data, both attacks were carried out with Iskander ballistic missiles.
