A home in the Bronx, which practically functioned as a drug “factory”, was dismantled in a joint operation by federal and local agencies. During the raid, they seized a huge amount of fentanyl.
Our reporter Gary Merson, from Univision 41, went to the scene of the operation, at the house 3337 Beaumont Avenue, in the Belmont section. From there, he confirmed that the authorities worked 6 continuous hours to gather the evidence and then recover the shipment of fentanyl.
At least four kilos of press, which is used to package drugs, and other machinery, were removed from the home. They also confiscated suitcases, plastic bags and boxes.
There are 4 arrested in the raid on the house full of drugs
The anti-drug officers had to wear masks and special suits, in addition to later undergoing medical tests to certify that exposure to the narcotic did not leave them with health problems.
“The situation is very serious, they should have more control,” a neighbor who preferred not to identify herself told Univision 41. Others close to the house did not want to give statements and claimed to have no idea what was happening.
In the case, four suspects were placed under arrest, but the Police have not revealed their identities or the charges they now face.
By 11:00 p.m., Gary Merson noted that the street remained closed on both sides.
Three houses away from the raided home, there is a preschool center, a detail that inevitably recalls the death of the child Nicholas Dominici, in a daycare center in the Bronx, due to a fentanyl overdose.
