Düsseldorf Investigation Leads to Seizure of 110 Kilograms of Marijuana and 1,100 Cannabis Plants

In Düsseldorf, investigators confiscated around 110 kilograms of marijuana and 1,100 cannabis plants. According to a joint statement with the public prosecutor’s office on Thursday, they discovered the drugs packed in bags and 16,000 euros in cash in a commercial property. It was said that this served as a kind of logistics center for suspected drug dealers. A 27-year-old was arrested.

During the investigation in Düsseldorf, the officers also discovered the plantation with more than 1,100 cannabis plants. They arrested two other men, aged 33 and 35.

The action took place in May – but for investigative reasons, the police and public prosecutor’s office only now went public with it, as a spokesman explained.

Also found in Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg

According to the statement, the State Criminal Police Office spoke of a sales value of more than 1.3 million euros that the annual yield from the cannabis plantation could have generated.

The investigators discovered a large cannabis plantation in Dessau (Saxony-Anhalt) in October 2022. The first indications of a nationally acting gang emerged.

In the course of further investigations, they discovered a total of eight cannabis plantations in Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg. In this context, they have so far arrested 20 suspects. They are all in custody. (dpa)
