The Poultry Cooperative of Ioannina “Pindos” was visited today by the Mayor of Ioannina Dimitris Papageorgiou and candidate municipal councilors of the “Yiannena New Era” faction.
The Mayor and the faction’s candidates had a particularly fruitful discussion with the President of the Cooperative Andreas Dimitriou and with executives of the company.
Mr. Papageorgiou emphasized that poultry farming is a pillar of the local economy and the Poultry Cooperative an exemplary unit that practically supports producers and members and at the same time offers excellent quality products to the consumer public.
The Poultry Cooperative is a pioneering unit for the entire country with a very important footprint in exports, something that the region and Epirus are in great need of.
At the same time, however, he supports the society and for the Municipality of Ioannita, he has been an important partner throughout the four-year period, since he practically contributed to the support of all social policy actions.
However, the Poultry Cooperative is also a valuable partner in the city’s path towards climate neutrality, as it is among those who have signed the climate pact, thus practically showing its interest in the green economy.
“The primary sector is of major importance for the local and also for the national economy. We all have to support the people who produce and stand next to the poultry farmers of our region” emphasized the Mayor.
