Chartres en Lumières Nocturne Hike: Illuminated Sites and Remarkable Walks

The third edition of the Chartres en Lumières Nocturne hike will take place on November 4. It is organized by the ASPTT Chartres and L’Écho Républicain as part of the Remarkable Walks. In association with the city of Chartres and several partners, the five hiking routes (5, 8, 12, 16 and 20 km) allow you to admire the city and the illuminated sites of Chartres en Lumières.

The start will be given at 8 p.m. on the square in front of the cathedral. The shortest circuit (5 km) is accessible to everyone. The next two are the most interesting for admiring the illuminated monuments, while the two longest will take hikers towards L’Odyssée and Le Coudray. The refreshments for the three longest courses (12, 16, 20 km) will benefit from an intermediate refreshment at L’Odyssée. A snack will also be offered to participants of the five circuits, at the end of the hike, on the cathedral esplanade.

Several animations

During the hike, many activities will take place. “Ephemeral lights and torches will be installed all along the routes with various concerts in the lower town,” indicates Jacky Poirier, president of ASPTT Chartres. Other surprises will punctuate the route.

Pre-registration days will take place at the Carrefour Chartres store gallery on Saturday 21, Wednesday 25 and Saturday 28 October, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. An office for registrations is also planned at the ASPTT Chartres, at 4 rue Jean Perrin, on Wednesday October 18. Registrations will also be done on site, before departure on the square in front of the cathedral. A gift will be offered to the first 2,000 registrants.
