Liputan6.com, Jakarta – The Glazer family has revealed they are open to discussing the potential sale of Manchester United. However, after almost a year, a decision on who the 20-time Premier League champion will be sold to has still not been taken.
Currently there are two main candidates to complete the MU takeover, namely Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe. But, there is still great uncertainty regarding the current owner’s plans.
A split reportedly occurred in the Glazer family. Additionally, there have been reports in recent weeks that Man United may soon be out of the market.
Ratcliffe is allegedly considering making a minority stake offer, which would see the Glazer family retain majority control of Man Utd. The British billionaire will submit a bid to buy around 25% of the club’s shares, with a full takeover completed in the coming years.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Jassim is only interested in immediately taking over 100% of Manchester United’s shares. He also confirmed that he was willing to provide significant funds to improve Old Trafford and also the club’s training ground.
According to Manchester Evening News, Sheikh Jassim’s latest bid, said to be around 5 billion pounds, remains on the table for Manchester United. The report also claims he is still waiting for a response from Glazer’s family.
