Roman Horák’s Goal in Sparta’s Match Against Vítkovice and Upcoming Game Against Liberec

Coincidentally, Roman Horák was the author of Sparta’s last goal before the duel with Vítkovice. Last Friday, he scored in the 55th minute against Olomouc, and on Sunday, Prague came up empty against Brno.

Roman, it seems that you just had to break the fast.

You’re right. We didn’t score a single goal last game, which is certainly not pleasant on home ice. That I scored the goal is probably lucky.

The entire match belonged to your formation, which scored all three goals. How does the interplay with Josh Kestner and Pavel Kousal work?

We had a great preparation together, but now it was a bit slow. Now we led the match as a line to the winning end. We are very happy about it. I hope that it lasts for the next matches, because we should be one of the lines that pull the team.

After the match with Komet, there were voices from the Sparta cabin saying that it wasn’t you. What has changed with Vítkovice?

We improved in the offensive zone. They held the puck more, created more chances. In the first period, we drove, but it had no idea and we didn’t even create any real chances. In the end, we lost the first period. In the second, we used the power play, which helped us, because the last matches did not go well for us. In the end, we made the match a little complicated in the game of Vítkovic without a goalkeeper, but we take points, and that’s the main thing.

ADJUSTMENT: HC Sparta Prague vs. HC Vitkovic Ridera

You played your fourth game in seven days. Are you feeling tired?

That’s enough. Now, from the beginning of the season, we are not so used to it. But we have a team experienced enough to handle it. We had almost all the matches at home, so we didn’t have to travel. The forces should still be there.

Now you have free time until Sunday, when you have Liberec at home.

We already have a few older players here, we are glad for the break (smiles). It must be especially difficult for Kuba Kovář, even though he is probably used to it (in Kořenář’s absence he caught the last five games – editor’s note). But time off will definitely help, because we will also have a little rest mentally.
