The University of Pau and the Pays de l’Adour (UPPA) presented, on September 7, 2023, the main outlines of the start of the school year which include large-scale projects and the increase in the number of students. With this in mind, it plans to invest in five projects, including the construction of the engineering school which will be located on the Montaury site in Anglet (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).
The Learning Center-Isanum program consists of the construction of a building of approximately 3,200 m². This infrastructure will include spaces reserved for the training of engineers specializing in connected objects and digital technology. Inside, lecture halls, classrooms and four digital third places (fablab) will be set up. The creation of a modern center which will offer videoconferencing training is also part of the project. The work is expected to be completed by 2026.
This initiative is part of the UPPA strategy which aims to increase enrollment in Basque university areas. The financing, estimated at 10 million euros, will be provided by the Feder fund (Europe), the State, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and the Basque Country Urban Community.
