Former MP Chant Janjanian pointed out, “A few hours ago, we received news on some social media outlets that the Forces Party was about to plan the expulsion of a former member of the party’s bloc and his wife, against the backdrop of the former MP’s meeting with the head of the Change and Reform Bloc, MP Gebran Bassil, in the administration of former MP Cesar Maalouf. We are concerned about this. In this regard, we emphasize the following:
Zahle taught us from ancient times to adhere to its national etiquette, in all our journeys… and this is how we were, and still are. It taught us to be open to others, without compromising on our principles and our cause, to which we have committed ourselves throughout all stages of life, and still do.”
Jingnian explained in a statement, “On this basis, I had the honor of representing Zahle and serving it in the Parliament for nine years, during which I did not deviate from my commitment, despite my openness to all partners in the country.
I sat at Maarab’s table with the pride of belonging to the Lebanese Forces bloc that day… and I did not change my commitment. But today I am surprised by the offensive campaign being organized against me and my family on social media, after I accepted the invitation of my friend, former MP Cesar Maalouf, to a morning breakfast in the presence of MP Gebran Bassil, during which we did not discuss any political topic.
Here I wonder: Is it necessary to isolate ourselves in our homes and isolate ourselves, without any contact with the surroundings?
Zahle has never been anything but an address for gathering and meeting within its national constants…so where do you want to take it? Is what is required a political practice that requires social slaughter among each other?
He pointed out, “It seems that the attackers forgot all their daily problems, the economic and political crisis, the needs of Zahle, and Souk El Balat, and focused on us. The days will prove, as past years have confirmed, that communication between the people of one city and one nation is inevitable and unavoidable. Our dignity will remain, Our friendships, and our unity, are greater than all their attacks and their organizers.”
He considered that the Lebanese Forces are required to clarify the actions of some cadres that are not appropriate for an ancient party or its activists. And the separation has happened, we want it to be a separation befitting us, the party and its cause, not a party of insults, insults and betrayal that we distance ourselves from engaging in, and we refrain from doing a party that we were among the ranks of its activists.”
