Company DJI introduced the next generation of small drone Mini 4 Pro. It is rather just an evolution compared to the previous generation Mini 3 Pro, but that does not mean that there are no changes. It still has a large 1/1.3″ sensor with 48MPx resolution, but while the previous model was capable of 4K60p in SDR or 4K30p in HDR, the new one can now handle HDR in 60p as well. It also adds slow-motion video in 4K and 100 fps. We also get support for D-Log M and HLG recording (i.e. also in 10-bit depth with 4:2:0 encoding). In Full HD, the frequency has been increased from 120 to 200 fps. True Vertical Shooting mode is also supported. Of course, there is support for codecs H.264 and H.265, the data rate is 150 Mbps.
The main camera still has a lens with an 82.1° angle of view (24mm converted focal length) and an aperture of F1.7. For photos, it handles times from 1/16000 second to 2 seconds and can take both stacked 12 MPx resolution and non-stacked 48 MPx. There are functions such as sequential shooting, exposure bracketing for up to 7 images. JPEG and RAW (DNG) recording is supported. There is also 2GB of internal storage.
The drone can rise and fall at a speed of 5 m/s, then it can fly at a speed of up to 16 m/s (approx. 58 km/h). The endurance of the basic 18.96Wh battery is for 34 minutes of flight, or 45 minutes with a larger 28.4Wh battery, but it will not be sold in Europe. It can then float in the air for 30 or 39 minutes. It can cope with winds of up to 10.7 m/s (38.5 km/h). The remote control with the O4 system can handle the transmission of up to 1080p60 video (originally 1080p30) with a data rate of 10 MB/s (RC-N2 and RC 2), via Wi-Fi it is 30 Mbps (approx. 3.75 MB/s). The maximum control distances have also been extended, from 12 to 20 km (FCC), or from 8 to 10 km (CE, SRRC and MIC). Distances for data transmission are also slightly better.
The folded drone has slightly larger dimensions than its predecessor, it is 148×94×64 mm, in the unfolded state it is significantly larger with 298×373×101 mm. But the weight still fit under 249 grams. The Advanced Pilot Assistance System (APAS) anti-collision system has been improved. Instead of a visual system in forward, backward and downward directions, here we have a multi-directional system complete with a downward 3D infrared sensor. In this way, it can handle higher speeds (although the detection angle has narrowed slightly towards the front), but the possibility of detection in the lateral direction and upward movement has been added.
As for the prices, the predecessor is now available for €745, the new one is only slightly more expensive at 799 EUR (19.5 thousand CZK) in the variant with one battery and RC-N2 controller. The version with the RC 2 controller costs EUR 999 (CZK 24.5 thousand), the Fly More Combo costs EUR 1129 (CZK 27.6 thousand). This set includes 3 basic batteries, 2 RC controllers, a charging hub and a shoulder bag.
