Chelsea did not know the taste of victory in the last three matches, as it lost to its guest, Nottingham Forest, with a goal without a goal, then drew 0-0 with its host, Bournemouth, before losing to its guest, Aston Villa, with a goal without a response, before defeating Brighton with a goal in the third round of the English Professional League Cup.
