I myself am curious if Verva fans will put up banners thanking Pavlo Hynk (CEO). After all the abuse he has had to face in recent years, he now deserves praise.
Sukeľ and Kudrna in the first line are joined not only by Ondra and David Kaše in the second, but also by Abdul in the third, and the team looks very good. However, it is a question whether Litvínov’s surprising results are more about the lineup, or about training and how the team came together as a group, which would go with coach Karl Mlejnek. It seems to me that everything is working perfectly so far.

Hand on heart, to have 17 points and a string of six wins after seven games, no one could have expected that. After those years of hardships, all Lithuanian fans now have to look forward to winter not only because of the sausage… The team’s offensive hockey is really attractive.

ADJUSTMENT: HC Litvínov vs. BK Mladá Boleslav 5:2Video: Tipsport Extraliga / BPA
We’ll see if a weakness in the team emerges over time. How will goalkeeper Matej Tomek keep up with his performances when the moment of crisis comes. But I don’t see it as a crisis at the moment. So far, it seems that everything in Litvínov is painted not in yellow-black, but in pink, and it sucks.
On Sunday, I carefully watched the match between Mladá Boleslav and České Budějovice. That is, a battle of seven foreigners on the home side (defenders Osburn, Jánošík and forwards Skalický, Järvinen, Aaltonen, Lantoš, Söderlund) against the only Harris in the South Bohemian squad. I was surprised how bland the Central Bohemians were. There was nothing at all – no dedication, no toughness. They were not able to come up with anything in Budějovice at all.

We’re not going to lie to you: you don’t buy foreigners and pay them half a million salaries to just slide around the ice and have a few shots a game. On the contrary, they should be pushers. And if they are not, then there is a mistake somewhere. They are probably satisfied and someone in Boleslav will have to tell them that it can’t go on like this.
Although Aaltonen scored both of the home team’s goals with wonderful passes, we can only smile at this game maturity. But on the other hand, Budějovice came with youngsters, and twenty-two-year-old Přikryl, Beránek and Koláček, a year younger, scored a goal. Unlike the “great” foreigners in Boleslav, who show nothing at all.

Martin Ševc
Martin Ševc became the sports director of the club less than a year ago after Radi Vrbat and Václav Nedorost, and he definitely did not have an easy time getting his bearings in this position and the market right away and knowing what and how. He needs to gain experience, but that doesn’t change the fact that the composition of the team is following him at the moment.
It is a mystery to me why Boleslav, which should be looking for players in the country and working with them, now has a completely unremarkable team with a lot of foreigners. I would expect at least one of them to be more prominent. By that I don’t mean in terms of scoring, but more pronounced in terms of gameplay, that he will dominate the game. Something like that was definitely not seen against Budějovice.

Mladá Boleslav – České Budějovice 0:1 (5. Kubík) Video: Tipsport Extraliga / BPA
Finally, I have to stop at 24-year-old Adam Kubík. This was a purchase that really worked out for Motor. After seven rounds, he has five goals and this is exactly the moment that, at the beginning of his ideal hockey age, can help him tremendously in his career. And Motor, in turn, will be helped by the realization that it makes sense to look for the type of players you need and look around. The Budějovics succeeded, Kubík fit perfectly into the functioning system.
