Exploring Financing Options for a Model Y LR: Balloon Loan vs. Classic Installment Loan

Good evening everyone,

it is all about:

I would like to finance a Model Y Lr.

On the Tesla site you only have the balloon loan option.

Someone wrote in the Facebook forum that he ordered his Model Y with balloon financing and the next day he was able to select a classic installment loan in the app, i.e. without a final installment.

Does anyone have experience with whether this is true?

Because I don’t want a final installment of around €20,000, I want everything to be paid for at the end of the term.

I thank you in advance for your answers.

Where is the problem? Then you finance the final installment afterwards.

I also had the option after ordering

Good answer to an unasked question!:see_no_evil:

Where is the problem of taking out a loan somewhere else and buying the vehicle via bank transfer?

Probably the higher interest rates…

Yes, of course! You have to finance €20,000 more!

PS Vll helps. Of course, if you take out 3 loans at the same time with €20,000 each (or however much you need) from different banks, you will get better conditions.

You won’t get such a good interest rate for €20,000 less

You could also put aside an amount every month over the term in addition to the installment so that you end up with €20,000.
Add time deposits or something similar to it, then it will also give you some interest.
No problem.

Well, with Tesla on the site you get 1.97% financing………I don’t think any bank offers that at the moment.

All the better.
Put the money you have saved at a minimum of 1.97% and you will end up with exactly what you are looking for financially.

Ok, if that’s the case, I don’t think there is a better interest rate at the moment.
Then I would sign a savings contract with the same term and at the same rate so that I would have 20,000 at the end

Yes that works!
I did that too. I was then able to choose a classic installment loan without a final installment and with significantly higher monthly installments. Same interest rate, at least in June also 1.99%.

If you have €20k in cash, you can invest a fixed-term deposit at 4% in a German bank (deposit protection).
If not I I can’t afford such an expensive car.

Well, expensive is relative……whatever…it has to be an electric car…. Because by 2025 at the latest, the liter of diesel will be around €3…

So I’m now ordering with balloon credit…….

And then can I choose the classic installment loan the next day?

So why don’t they offer it in the first place?
