Peace prize winners have lived here – from Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama to Malala Yousafzai and many others. Now the Nobel suite at the Grand Hotell in Oslo has been named Norway’s leading hotel suite.
Grand Hotel Oslo by Scandic walked away with three awards at this year’s World Travel Awards’ 30th anniversary, which was held in Batumi, Georgia, at the end of last month.
In addition to the hotel being voted “Norway’s leading business hotel” and “Norway’s leading hotel” for the ninth and seventh year in a row respectively, this year they also won the award for “Norway’s leading hotel suite” for the Nobel Suite.
The World Travel Awards, known as the “Oscars of the travel industry”, were established in 1993 and are recognized as one of the most prestigious international industry awards.

Grand Hotel Oslo by Scandic is an iconic hotel, and has a history that stretches back to 1874. The Nobel Suite also offers a rich history:
The first Peace Prize winners stood on the balcony and received public tributes from the street in 1901. Since then, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Barack Obama and Malala Yousafzai are just some of the influential people who have stayed in the suite.

– The suite has a unique history and has been at the center of a wide range of world events for more than 120 years. This, in combination with the fantastic design, makes the Nobel Suite an attraction in itself, says hotel director Toril Flåskjer in a press release.

The Nobel Suite at the Grand Hotel Oslo by Scandic.
The Nobel suite was completely renovated in 2020 by interior designer Hanne Gathe, and is an iconic and beautiful suite of a whopping 71 square metres.
It is furnished in a classic style, with a balcony and a view of the Stortinget and Karl Johans gate.
