The much-hyped Russian smartphone “R-FON” turned out to be a copy of the Bangladeshi Symphony Helio 80 – only worse and more expensive.
A scandal erupted on social networks in connection with a scam by the manufacturers of the “Russian smartphone” “R-FON”, which turned out to be a copy of the Bangladeshi Symphony Helio 80, only worse and more expensive. The Russian fake “R-FON” has a 50MP camera, while the Helio 80 has a 108MP camera.
“R-FON” costs 40,000 rubles, and its Bangladeshi twin brother is one and a half times cheaper, less than 15,000.
The so-called Russian smartphone is “produced” by the company “Rutek”, but the details that have emerged have caused a new round of ridicule about the so-called Russian “import substitution”. The model from the Russian Federation almost completely copies the Symphony brand from Bangladesh. However, the Russians claim that the domestic operating system ROSA Mobile is allegedly installed on their phone.
In the notification of the device in the EEC register, the manufacturer of the smartphone indicated the Hong Kong company Bopel Mobile Technology Co Limited. The Russians claim that they assemble their smartphone in Saransk.
The original Symphony Helio 80, like the R-FON, is equipped with a 6.7-inch display, a MediaTek Helio G99 microprocessor, a 128 GB drive and a 5000 mAh battery.
Symphony Helio 80 is a smartphone model manufactured by Symphony from Bangladesh. The smartphone was launched in 2023 and runs on Android 13 operating system. The Symphony Helio 80 smartphone is available in two color options: black and blue. The cost of a smartphone in Ukraine is about 10,000 hryvnia.
Let us recall that earlier a scandal broke out in Russia over a scam involving the production of Moskvich 6.
