Army made a foolproof plan to surround China, now India will keep an eye on every movement of the dragon on the border.

New Delhi. An additional team of intelligence officers will be deployed for surveillance and information collection at Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) posts along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh. A highly placed source said that the Central Government has approved the proposal to set up those posts, which will be known as ‘Border Intelligence Post’ (BIP). This step is considered important in view of the increasing Chinese activities on the border and border violations by the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China.

The standoff between the Indian Army and PLA continues in Ladakh since June 2020. A source said that four-five Intelligence Bureau officers will be deployed at each BIP and ITBP personnel will protect them. The source said that the personnel who will be deployed on BIP will keep an eye on cross-border activities and share updated information with higher officials and the government. Citing the sensitive nature of the scheme, the source refused to disclose the amount sanctioned by the central government.

ITBP posts are being increased
ITBP has about 180 border outposts along the entire India-China border and approval has recently been given to create 45 more. In June 2020, 20 Indian Army soldiers were martyred in a clash with PLA in Galwan Valley of Ladakh. On December 9 last year, PLA soldiers had violated the border in Yangste, Arunachal Pradesh, due to which there was a clash between the soldiers of the two countries and soldiers of both the sides were injured.
