VMRO today sent a signal to the chief prosecutor Boris Sarafov on the occasion of a circulated clip in which the person Birdzhan Hairedinov performs a cover version of the official anthem of the Republic of Bulgaria with chalga-rhythm and oriental instrumentals.
This is nonsense with a national symbol, such as the Bulgarian anthem. Therefore, the VMRO wants an urgent inspection, that the “contractor” be revealed and personalized, and that Art. 108, para. 2 of the Criminal Code: “Whoever in any way tarnishes the coat of arms, flag or anthem of the Republic of Bulgaria, or the flag or anthem of the European Union, shall be punished by imprisonment for up to two years or a fine of up to three thousand BGN”.
In the signal, signed by the co-chairman of VMRO, Alexander Sidi, it is categorically insisted that the harshest punishment provided by law be applied for the gross desecration of the Bulgarian national anthem.
