The roof of a church has collapsed in Mexico. About thirty people were buried under the rubble. At least three people were killed, according to local media. Two injured people were pulled from the rubble; others are being searched for with all their might.
The accident happened in Ciudad Madero in the state of Tamaulipas, on the Gulf of Mexico. A baptism service was taking place in the church at the time. According to the police, it was attended by about a hundred people.
The moment of the collapse is captured by surveillance cameras. You can see how the roof and some walls fail seemingly out of nowhere. Other images show people trying to locate missing people and push debris aside.
Bishop Álvarez Cano of the nearby city of Tampico speaks of a black day. He calls on people in the area to support rescuers and pray for survivors.
