Craft: Moritz May from Goldbach and Marco Dietz from Würzburg are guild winners

You should look forward and take advantage of opportunities, emphasized head master Karlheinz Trageser on Friday evening at the acquittal ceremony of the Alzenau painters’ guild. A total of eight painters and varnishers, as well as 15 vehicle painters, were pleased with the successful completion of their training.

The bachelors had worked hard for their journeyman’s certificate and deserved the acquittal ceremony, emphasized Senior Master Trageser. He also thanked the trainers in the companies and the teachers at the vocational schools, who had perfectly prepared the former trainees for their careers.

Every year there are around 440,000 apprentices in skilled trades in Germany. This means that almost 30 percent of all trainees in Germany did an apprenticeship in one of the craft businesses.

Unfortunately, the importance of craftsmanship has not yet reached everyone. That’s why Trageser called on the young craftsmen: “Convince your skeptics with your work.” And: “Humorous image campaigns for the craft, such as ‘In the beginning there was heaven and earth, we did the rest'” showed how to do it.”

Even if the bachelors at the acquittal celebration didn’t want to know much about further training and future opportunities, Senior Master Trageser asked them to look forward. Studying, master school, internal training and initially gaining a foothold in the profession – there are many opportunities and each one has its advantages.

During the ceremony, the head master, together with the chairman of the examination committee Holger Ehser, was able to award the guild winners Moritz May from Goldbach (painter and refinisher) and Marco Dietz from Würzburg (vehicle refinisher).
