IN MUNICIPALITIES AND DISTRICT TEN DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTIONS
Both the municipalities of Ioannina and the Region of Epirus are in a completely unnerved and without political confrontation pre-election period, as the climate is nothing like previous confrontations.
One thing is the consecutive elections at the national level, one thing is the shocking events with the floods, one thing is the SYRIZA elections with the Kasselakis “phenomenon”, but mainly the problems of everyday life with the accuracy that sweeps away, it seems that the citizens’ attention has been diverted elsewhere.
At the same time, however, factional staffs mostly avoid harsh confrontation and prefer to promote their rank visits, speeches and rallies rather than aiming their arrows at their opponents.
It is obvious that they have read that people are averse to loud voices, they are tired of hearing and seeing candidates “fighting” and so they choose a soft strategy.
Of course, this does not mean that there is not a fight, and indeed an intense one, especially from the candidates who, due to the new system of conducting the elections, are more than ever.
The positions are specific and the interested parties are many and this even leads to internal contests, that is, between candidates of the same faction, in order to achieve the goal of the election.
In any case, the election is approaching and there doesn’t seem to be any dramatic change in the final week in terms of how the candidates will move.
If now the results of 8her October lead some municipalities or the Region to a second round, there they expect a more intense fight between the candidates as after the second ballots one will be the winner.
