41% of the French population favor limiting airline passengers to four flights in a lifetime. This is evidenced by a survey by the Consumer Science & Analytics (CSA) Institute.
64% of French people aged 18 and over surveyed by CSA said they favor reducing the use of aircraft in the medium term for environmental reasons (including 40% who strongly approve).
It is noted that the study was carried out after the engineer Jean-Marc Jankovici, a climate change expert, has once again called for drastic restrictions on air travel and called for a quota of four flights per person over a lifetime. In his opinion, this will help save the planet, since it will reduce the impact of the “dirtiest form of transport” on it.
41% of French people overall supported Jankovici’s proposal. A higher percentage is among those under 35 years of age (48%).
The survey was conducted online on July 18, 2023, with a representative sample of 1,010 French people aged 18 years and over.
