Al-Marsad newspaper: The supervisor of the Saudi Digital Library, Sulaiman Al-Riya’i, said that a medical student had bought a book that cost 9,000 riyals, even though it was available in the Saudi Digital Library for free.
He explained during an interview with Al-Ekhbariya channel: “The library is the first and main source for all researchers, learners and teachers in the Kingdom.”
He added: “All educational and research institutions benefit daily from the digital knowledge sources provided by the library through its partnerships with a large number of the most important providers of human knowledge in the world.”
He continued: “When the student is assigned to scientific research, before he buys the book or searches for it on the Internet, he must take advantage of the platform in the Saudi Digital Library,” pointing out that the library contains a large scientific stock of books, references, and research.
