Coming off its first loss of the season, the North Salem Vikings needed a big performance to bounce back against McNary on Friday night.
And the homecoming crowd got a show, as senior running back Jamahl Wilson racked up 341 rushing yards and scored six touchdowns as the Vikings beat the Celtics 48-20.
In the game, Wilson had two rushing touchdowns that were over 70 yards.
Coming into Friday’s game, Wilson led Class 6A in rushing yards, with 626 total. He was averaging 14.6 yards per carry and was tied for second in the state in rushing touchdowns, with eight.
Wilson transferred to North Salem this year after previously attending McKay. He was a second team all-state selection last fall.
The Vikings (4-1, 2-1 SD1) will play at Grants Pass next week. McNary (0-5, 0-3 SD1) will host South Salem.
