THE ACCUSATIONS

The main charge in the case has already been resolved against Trump, who was found responsible on Tuesday for continued fraud at the company along with his sons Donald Jr. and Eric and two former executives. What will be resolved in the pending process are six other crimes, related to fraud and compensation for damages.

The New York Attorney General’s Office, which is pursuing the case, and the defense have released their lists of potential witnesses – although they do not have to call them all – and agree that they include former President Trump, his sons Donald Jr. and Eric , and former executive Allen Weisselberg, all indicted.

The Prosecutor’s list includes 28 people, including Ivanka, Trump’s eldest daughter, who was also initially accused but was later acquitted by an appeals court, and former lawyer Michael Cohen, who was the businessman’s right-hand man and After turning against him, he served time for economic crimes.

For its part, Trump’s defense has provided a large list of 127 witnesses that does not include Ivanka or Cohen, but indicates that it wants to call “any witness included on the prosecution’s list.” It identifies numerous Trump Organization workers and experts in accounting, appraisals and law.

Trump, his two oldest sons and two former executives, in addition to being found liable for fraud for inflating the value of the company’s assets to obtain financial advantages, have also been banned from operating businesses in the state of New York, which which is a blow to their income.

Trump’s lawyers have communicated their intention to appeal that ruling.

The remaining six charges against Trump and his company set to be tried starting Monday are related to “persistent illegalities” such as falsifying corporate documents, issuing false financial statements and committing insurance fraud.

However, it remains to be seen if the start date of October 2 is maintained, since Trump’s defense denounced Judge Engoron for abuse of authority and the process is paralyzed waiting for an appeals panel to rule, possibly this Thursday or tomorrow Friday.
