RoyaltyBritish King Charles III (74) reportedly wants to end the rift with his son Prince Harry (39). But a former palace official claims that this is not an expression of fatherly love, but is purely a move “for strategic reasons”. The source announced this to the British ‘Daily Beast’.
“Ultimately, Charles has not only a personal, but also a strategic need to resolve the issue,” the source said. The two have not been photographed together in years and that is now making the king think. “It is not sustainable for the king, who is the national symbol of unity, to be on such bad terms with his son,” the source added.
Queen Camilla’s part in resolving their feud also becomes important. “The separation between state and family is sacred, so Camilla will play a central role in all of this. Camilla is the only one who can advise him and whom he will listen to. She is a pragmatist and I am sure she understands how important it is to bring this saga to a successful conclusion.”

Apologize
A friend of the British monarch also revealed that Charles wants to reconcile with Harry regardless of whether or not he apologizes for the revelations and allegations against the royal family in his book ‘Spare’: “There are indications that Charles wants an apology from Harry , but that is absolutely not the case. He doesn’t expect that at all. He knows the Windsors are stubborn and Harry is no exception. But can Harry reconcile with this?”, says the source of ‘Daily Beast’.
What about Meghan Markle?
But while Charles is open to reuniting with Harry, he doesn’t seem to feel the same about his wife, Meghan Markle. Last year, Markle reportedly requested a face-to-face meeting with Charles to “clear the air” following the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September, but her request was never granted and she has kept her distance from the king ever since.
