On Thursday, September 28, the Monagas Futplaya team was officially presented, which will be competing in the Futve Playa League starting this Friday when the regional phase begins in Monagas with two matches, with the Barça team debuting at 7:00 p.m. sand of the San Miguel Hotel court.
The event was led by the team’s board of directors, the coaching staff and players who revealed much of the conditions and preparations to face this new challenge.
“First we must thank the Governor of the Monagas state, Ernesto Luna, for making this dream of bringing together the best Beach Soccer players in the country come true and especially the people of Monagas who are always protagonists in this specialty,” were the opening words. by team president Humberto Rojas.
Likewise, the technical director, José “Pampano” Marcano, indicated the importance of not getting complacent and going out to win the ticket to the national phase from the first minute.
“We know that Monagas has always been a power in beach soccer and this regional tournament will be well contested, we trust in the work we are doing with a group of very professional players with extensive national and international experience,” said Marcano, who already knows what is to win the Futve Playa League championship.
In that order, the team captain, the Monagas native and Ravenna 2011 World Cup winner with Vinotinto, Francisco Landaeta, highlighted the work being done by the board of directors and the Governor of the Monagas state.
“When I received the call from Mr. Humberto Rojas, I did not hesitate to say yes, because they managed to rescue and reunite on the team the talent from Monaco that was shining in other clubs in Venezuela. We have players who were champions, runners-up and third place in the last edition of the league,” said Landaeta, who comes from playing in the Brazilian leagues.
Landaeta added that expectations are high for this tournament. “We are going to fight to bring him the title and dedicate it to all the people who support us and always follow us,” he concluded.
Monagas Futplaya will play with the round-robin format (round trip) with the teams Guamo FC, Willy Callister and Comanche Bottini. The one who accumulates the most points will be the champion and representative of the Monagas state in the national Phase that will be held at the Hugo Chávez Coliseum in the state of La Guaira.
