Indonesia was expelled by South Korea from the 2023 Asian Games in men’s team badminton. Leo Rolly Carnando/Daniel Marthin lost, Indonesia lost 1-3.
Leo/Daniel played the Indonesian team’s fourth match in the men’s team event against South Korea. The match was held at Court 2 BJ Gymnasium, Friday (29/9/2023) local time.
Before Leo/Daniel competed, Indonesia was trailing 1-2. Indonesia only won through Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, and two other parties represented by Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto and Jonatan Christie ended up losing.
In the fourth match, Leo/Daniel fought Kim Won-ho/Na Sung-seung. The match was fierce. In the first game, the Indonesian doubles had to admit Won-ho/Sung-seung’s lead 18-21.
In the second game, the match was tough again. The Leo/Daniel pair managed to keep up with the South Korean doubles at the start, but then fell behind after the interval.
Finally, Leo/Daniel lost 17-21 to the South Korean pair. Indonesia lost a total of 1-3, and were confirmed to be eliminated from the men’s team event.
This defeat also completes the suffering of the Indonesian badminton team. Previously, in the women’s team event, Indonesia was also helpless against hosts China. Indonesia was brushed 0-3 and immediately eliminated.
