What is the story of the musical “Back to the Future”?
I think many of you know the story of the film, but here’s a summary, if you don’t 🙂 .
The story revolves around Marty McFlya teenager from the 80s, and his friend the eccentric scientist, the Dr. Emmett Brown. When Doc builds a time machine in the form of a car DeLorean, Marty finds himself transported to the 1950s. There, he meets his own parents, George and Lorraine, who are also teenagers… Throughout the adventure, he is faced with challenges and must at all costs avoid disrupting the course of history if you don’t want to endanger your own existence!
What is the musical “Back to the Future” worth on Broadway?
Obviously my opinion is subjective but… I loved !!! And my husband, who was a little reluctant, loved it too 😉 .
It is Roger Bartbest known for his role as the pharmacist in love with Bree Van de Kampwho puts on Doc’s suit. Casey Likes, meanwhile, plays Marty McFly. Little known in France, he made his Broadway debut last year in the musical Almost Famous.
On stage, the duo Marty McFly and Doc Brown work wonderfully (even if we obviously keep in mind the mythical duo Christopher Lloyd – Michael J. Foxunbeatable… ).

The story tells the first of the films in the trilogy and everything is there: the legendary DeLorean, the famous song Johnny B Goode, bad Biff, the clock, etc. The cult scenes from the film are there, and the sets are really great, it feels like it!
We also find the cult songs from the film Power of love, Back in Timebut the good news is that it is also Alan Silvestri, the composer of the film’s soundtrack, who created the new pieces for the musical. The songs work pretty well, but the special mention goes to the special effects !! I was wondering how the staging of the DeLorean was going to be done and what a surprise, it’s really well done! I won’t reveal more so that you have the effect of surprise, but you will not be disappointed 😉.

How long is the musical?
The show lasts approximately 2 hours 40 minutes, with a 20 minute intermission. During the intermission you can have a drink and buy some goodies (tote bags, mugs, pens, posters, etc.) bearing the image of Back to the Future.
What if we don’t understand English well?
My husband and I don’t understand English particularly well, our level is rather average, but it didn’t bother us at all. Indeed, I think we all know the story by heart, so we can follow the story without any problem, even if certain subtleties sometimes escape us…
If you decide to see the show, I advise you to watch the film before your stay, just to put certain scenes in your head 😉.

Conclusion
Going to see a musical on Broadway and certainly a budget, but it’s really an unforgettable moment ! A few years ago, I also attended the show of Roi Lionand it’s always a visual slap in the face!
In any case, if you are a fan of the Back to the Future trilogy, I really recommend this show. The actors, music, sets and special effects make this production a show not to be missed!
