Because October is Cancer Awareness Month, the National Football League traditionally wears pink this month. Under the motto “It takes all of us” we draw attention to cancer prevention, early detection, screening and the disease cancer in general. Among other things, the football players wear pink gloves, shoes, caps, ties and much more to raise money for cancer organizations and support initiatives.
Friendly match and action day in Jahnstadion on October 7th
The BSV Jackrabbits Buxtehude and the Delmenhorst Bulldogs also want to join in on this pink activity and the idea behind it. On October 7th, the color pink will dominate during a friendly game between the two teams and thus raise awareness of the disease cancer. The donations collected will benefit the German Children’s Cancer Aid.
In addition, visitors on match day have the opportunity to get to know other offerings from the Buxtehuder sports club. Among other things, the departments for athletics, jazz dance and health sports will also be present there. Everything is also there for a real game day in the style of the National Football Leaque. There is face painting and a bouncy castle for children. Before kickoff at 3 p.m., the Flagrabbits (flag football U-15) play against their own parents and relatives and the BSV jazz dance department performs at halftime. Your physical well-being is also taken care of. Drinks, sweets and finger food from Waschbar Buxtehude are available for a donation and are intended to contribute to the legendary football feeling.
Information is also provided about the disease cancer, its prevention and the fight against it. Visitors aged 17 and over have the opportunity to register as a stem cell donor with the DKMS, and the German Cancer Aid has flyers available.
The event will take place on October 7th from 1 p.m. in the Jahnstadion Buxtehude. The Jackrabbits and the Delmenhorst Bulldogs are looking forward to a lot of spectators.
