The Minister of Economy, Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, called on major French companies to explore promising opportunities in the new economic sectors in the UAE, noting that the economic policies approved by the UAE during the last three years, in implementation of the leadership’s vision, formed fertile ground for the growth of major French companies and their spread in the country. This came during Bin Touq’s meeting with a group of businessmen, investors and CEOs of major French companies, in the presence of the head of the international branch of the French Employers Association, Frederic Sanchez.
The Ministry of Economy stated in a statement yesterday that the two sides discussed ways to enhance economic cooperation between Abu Dhabi and Paris, and create new paths that enable the business communities in the Emirates and France to explore more available opportunities that support the sustainable growth of their economies, especially in the new economy sectors.
Bin Touq said: “The UAE embraces 600 French companies that employ more than 30,000 people and operate in various sectors, including renewable energy, transportation, logistics, hotels, aviation, space, banking, and others. In contrast, the UAE is the second largest Gulf investor in France, and has more than 50 companies operating in the French market in different sectors. He added: “We will work with our partners in France to increase the number of companies operating in the markets of both countries during the next stage.”
Bin Touq visited France at the head of an economic delegation from the UAE, to discuss strengthening the bonds of joint economic cooperation in a wide range of vital sectors.
