Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Results of the latest survey by the Indonesian Survey Circle (LSI) Denny JA show electability Prabowo Subianto ahead of two other presidential candidates, Anies Baswedan and Ganjar Pranowo in West java.
Executive Director of LSI Communication Image Denny JA, Toto Izul Fatah, said that Prabowo is still firmly in the lead in electability, both in individual and pair simulations.
For individuals, he said, Prabowo was ahead by 46.1 percent. However, when paired with Erick Tohir, it fell 3 percent to 43.4 percent.
In second place, Anies Baswedan is ahead of Ganjar Pranowo with 29.3 percent. The same as Prabowo, when Anies was paired with Muhaimin Iskandar, it also fell 4 percent to 25.5 percent.
Meanwhile, Ganjar, according to the survey results, had to settle for third place with an electability of 18.4 percent.
The interesting thing, said Toto, was that even though Ganjar was still in position number 3, when a simulation was made to pair him with Ridwan Kamil, his electability rose from 18.4 percent to 24.8 percent. Likewise, when Ganjar paired with Sandiaga Uno, it rose to 20.0 percent.
Toto compares that when referring to the LSI Denny JA Survey data a year earlier or in February 2022, these three potential presidential candidates have both experienced increases. Prabowo, rose from 26.0 percent to 46.1 percent. Then Anies from 17.3 percent to 29.3 percent and Ganjar, from the previous 7.8 percent to 18.4 percent.
According to Toto, from the results of the qualitative analysis, Prabowo’s superiority in the number one position was because he had competed as a presidential candidate in the previous election, where he was already superior in West Java. Second, because the Gerindra party machine is also relatively mobile.
“In addition, there is the Dedi Mulyadi movement which is quite massive and all out campaigning for Prabowo with a series of cultural events at a number of points in West Java,” he said.
The survey captured West Java voters’ preferences for presidential candidates, vice presidential candidates and political parties.
Survey activities were carried out from 10-19 September 2023 using the “multistage random sampling” method with a standard number of respondents of 440 through face-to-face interviews using a questionnaire with a “margin of error” of 4.8 percent.
Meanwhile, in another survey from the Indo Research Survey, Prabowo’s electability decreased in West Java from 46 percent to 40.5 percent.
Indo Research also mapped the electability of the three presidential candidates in general. From the survey, it was recorded that Prabowo Subianto was in the top position even though there was a visible downward trend.
Meanwhile, a survey by the Indonesian Survey Institute (LSI) revealed that Ganjar’s electability was in first place in a simulation of three presidential candidates. Ganjar’s electability will reach 37 percent in August 2023.
Prabowo is in second place with 35.3 percent. Then Anies is in third place with an electability of 22.2 percent.
