A portal has been created for the reintegration of the Armenian residents of Karabakh into Azerbaijani society. This is stated in a message issued today, September 28, by the Administration of the President of Azerbaijan.
For pre-registration, Armenian residents living in the Karabakh economic region can voluntarily apply to the portal reintegration.gov.az or through the means of communication specified in the message (phone, WhatsApp, email).
In the near future, the reception of appeals will be organized locally, the administration of the head of the republic noted.
“As part of this activity, the first stage provides for the registration of persons living in the Karabakh economic region. Reception of applications and the registration process will be carried out electronically by the State Migration Service through a special portal created for this purpose, ensuring maximum convenience for applicants and accessibility of information. Pre-registration will create conditions for the effective use of all government services by Armenian residents living in the Karabakh economic region, as well as meeting their socio-economic and humanitarian needs,” the statement said.
Issues of reintegration of Karabakh Armenians into Azerbaijani society and states were discussed during two meetings between representatives of Baku and Stepanakert earlier this month – on August 21 in Yevlakh and September 25 in Khojaly.
As of 14.00 (13.00 Moscow time) on September 28, 70,500 people from Nagorno-Karabakh arrived in Armenia, the office of the head of government of the republic previously reported.
In total, about 120 thousand people lived in Nagorno-Karabakh before the latest aggravation of the situation in the region as a result of the “anti-terrorist operation” of Azerbaijan (September 19-20), according to official data.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said earlier this Thursday that as a result of Azerbaijan’s latest actions in the region, Karabakh Armenians have been ethnically cleansed and deprived of their homeland.
