At the Limburg Foal Auction Cruella Grandia Z (Chacco Blue x Mr. Blue) became the top winner of the evening with a proceeds of 35,000 euros. She remains in the Netherlands. Take On Me D (Cape Coral RBF Z x Cassini I) raised the second prize with 30,000 euros.

The Cruela Grandia Z, bred by FHGJ Grandia, is a daughter of the 1.40m mare Fairytale Look and a granddaughter of the international 1.45m mare Bella’s Heartbreaker (Matthias Poggemöller). There was interest in the filly from Monaco, but a bidder from the audience had the last bid.

Take On Me D

Take On Me D, one of the last foals to come under the hammer, was purchased by a bidder from the audience for 30,000 euros. The colt bred by D. Pars is a son of the international 1.35 mare A-Costinaa half-sister of the 1.50m stallion Collado.

29,000 euros for Annika Z

For Annika Z (Aganix du Seigneur x Bamako de Muze), bred by G. Aerts Kaat van den Bisschop and therefore closely related to, among others Nikka van den Bisschop in Holland van den Bisschop, there was mainly interest from the audience and she was ultimately sold for 29,000 euros. Richard Vogel and Sophie Hinners are her new owners. For a thousand euros less Special Triumph (Cape Coral RBF Z x Chacco Blue), bred from the full sister of the international 1.50m horse Be Special, sold. He goes to the United States.

20,000 euros or more

Four more foals fetched 20,000 euros or more. Special Tattoo (Emerald van ’t Ruytershof x Chacoon Blue) 22.000 euro, Eye Candy AG Z (Ermitage Kalone x Carrera VDL) 21,000 euros in Canadian horn Z (Cape Coral RBF Z x Indorado) in Balouvera S41 Z (Balou du Reventon x Harley VDL) 20,000 euros.

Pleased with auction record

The foals raised an average of 11,500 euros. “With such an average price and relatively few outliers, it is inevitable that most breeders went home very satisfied. The Limburg Foal Auction proves its worth time and time again, and we are very pleased with the fact that we have been able to continue the upward trend of recent years so well this year. Especially with this number of foals and in this day and age, it is certainly not a given to break auction records. I am proud that we, together with the breeders, have fully succeeded in this year,” says Paul Hendrix.

Online veiling

Tonight another 45 foals will go under the hammer in the online edition of the Limburg Foal Auction. Performance genes are also widely available within this group of foals. The foals all meet the requirements of the selection committee and were inspected again by a representative shortly before the auction. This offers buyers as much certainty as possible of a high-quality foal in good condition.

Proven maternal lines

The majority of the foals come from proven mother lines. So is the colt Top Secret GS (by Cape Coral RBF Z) bred from a half-sister of Grand Prix winner Winchester HS of Frank Schuttert, the colt Corbas Z (v. Contagio Z) from the direct mother line of Maikel van der Vleuten’s bronze medalist Beauville Z and is Tourka Minka MB (by Dourkhan Hero) a granddaughter of the international 1.60m mare Minka’s Diamond. Bred from the full sister of Leopold van Asten’s Olympic mare VDL Groep Fleche Rouge, the colt Aramis of the Paddocks (v. Untouchable) and the filly Teezer van ’t Wold HR (by Newmarket VM) comes from a half-sister of Grand Prix and World Cup winner Apart from Pieter Devos. The first lots will close at 7:30 PM on Friday evening, September 29.
