Influencer Emilie Voe Nereng and Michael Hansson are engaged. Hansson proposed to Nereng on the one-year anniversary of their first date. Hansson says he has never been happier and that Nereng brings out the best in him. Nereng highlights how Hansson supports her and enriches her life. Nereng confirmed on Instagram last December that she and Hansson were together, four months after breaking up with her former fiancé. The couple met after Hansson sent a message to Nereng on Instagram. The wedding will scheduled to take place in the summer of 2025. – On September 19, it was one year since he hit me on the motorbike and took me on a first date. He relatively spontaneously suggested that we recreate the first date on the one-year anniversary, but this time with a little twist, as you can probably understand, explains Nereng about the proposal.
But she had no suspicions.
– He’s a little trickster, he should have it. But I’ve seen some of the signals in retrospect – such as when I asked to borrow his suit jacket just before (where the ring was) and he just said: “No, father… let’s not control it now”.
For Hansson, it was an ordeal to keep it a secret.
– I have to say I have gained a renewed sympathy for Frodo in The Lord of the Rings after this. Anyone who has bought an engagement ring knows how heavy it can be to carry it alone, without sharing it with your partner. I’m probably not known for being particularly good at keeping things in, either, he says.
Nereng himself has posted about the engagement on Instagram Thursday afternoon.
“You give me fits of laughter every day and butterflies in my stomach. Therefore, it is completely crazy to think that I will live the rest of my life with you!! Love you!”
Paying tribute to each other
Hansson is clear to VG about why he wants to marry Nereng:
– I could talk about this for a long time, but to break it down completely, it’s really about the fact that I’ve never been happier. I look up to her in many ways, she brings out the best in me, and makes life even more fun to live.
Nereng agrees:
– He highlights the aspects I like best about myself, always cheers me on, and enriches my life.

– Had you talked about this beforehand?
– We have talked quite a bit about life together in general and the desire to get married. I especially remember that I mentioned last summer that too many people wait to propose until much of the magic in the relationship wears off. He took me at my word, to put it mildly, you could say, says Nereng.
Hansson says he has spent a lot of time thinking about what is the appropriate time.
– When has enough time passed? When does she expect it? What is a good enough setting, etc. But in the end, I think it’s just about how sure you are about each other, and I’ve been sure since I first met her. Pamela and Tommy Lee would say I’ve been on the lazy side.

In December last year, Nereng herself announced on Instagram that she had gotten together with Hansson, four months after breaking up with her former fiancé.
“November started with the most wonderful birthday celebration ever, and moved on to a trip to the cabin, Maemo with my brother, Christmas concert, friendsgiving, completed book, and on top of everything, I got a girlfriend!”she wrote.
– You have probably been together for a year, after you had become single quite recently, how is it to enter into a new engagement so quickly?
– Yes, it is quite sick to think about. The previous relationship already feels like a lifetime ago, and I realized quite quickly that I wanted my whole life with Michael, so getting engaged just feels absolutely wonderful, says Nereng.
Her chosen one, Michael Hansson, is known to many as Johnny from the TV series “Johnny and Johanna”, which ran on NRK from 2004 to 2006.
They met when Hansson sent Nereng a message on Instagram saying he thought they could have a lot of fun together.
– He was right about that, says Nereng.
The couple haven’t worked out all the details related to the wedding yet, but say they will enjoy planning ahead.
– What we do know is that this wedding WILL HAPPEN, and probably in the summer of 2025.

Emilie Nereng, who became known as “Voe” when she started blogging in 2009, quickly became one of Norway’s biggest influencers.
She took part in the first season of the reality series “The Bloggers”, and was also in season 15 of “Skal vi danse” on TV 2.
The 26-year-old reached the final and took second place in season three of TV 2’s “Kompani Lauritzen”, which premiered in spring 2022.
