Jan P. is in prison for life for the murder of 14-year-old Ayleen from Gottenheim near Freiburg. The Giessen regional court imposed the maximum penalty.
In the trial of 14-year-old Ayleen, who was killed in Hesse, the defendant was sentenced to the maximum penalty. On Thursday, the Gießen regional court imposed a life sentence on 30-year-old Jan Heiko P. for murder. The judges also determined the particular gravity of the guilt and ordered subsequent preventive detention.
Ayleen’s mother came to Giessen for the verdict, with her lawyer, who is representing her as a co-plaintiff in the trial. As a witness in the trial, the mother also described her daughter’s change in personality.
The 30-year-old convict picked up the girl from her hometown of Gottenheim (Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald district) in July last year, took her to a forest in the Gießen district in Hesse, where she strangled her and sank her in a lake in the Wetterau district.
More on this shortly.
