Hamad Yousef Al Shehhi, a swimmer at Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, thanked the Sharjah Sports Council for its support and sponsorship through the preparation camps and participation in the tournaments, stressing that this is what motivates him to make his utmost effort to have the honor of joining the national team and realizing his dream of participating in the Olympic Games.
This came in the wake of Al Shehhi’s participation in the Tunisian Open Championship, which was held recently, where he won the silver medal in the 100 m race, while he won the gold medal in the 50 m freestyle race.
Al Shehhi confirmed that it was a positive participation in all respects, because he came into contact with champion swimmers in training and competitions and benefited greatly from them, explaining that his current numbers are only a milestone in achieving the best and most important in his sporting career through international representation.
Al Shehhi expressed his gratitude to the Sharjah Sports Council for including him in the gifted program and providing him with the necessary support and participation in the Tunisian camp and championship. He also thanked Al Hamriyah Club for providing all the facilities and capabilities to reach successes and championships.
For his part, Mohammed Obaid Al-Hussan, Director of the Sports Affairs and Development Department at the Council, confirmed that Al-Shehhi is one of the most promising swimmers in the 14-year-old category, and holds the state record for the 13-year-old category in the 50m freestyle. He is one of the most talented and promising players in the Emirate of Sharjah, and a bright future awaits him, especially if he continues. Improving his level through strong training and competitions.
