Transportation of goods. The National Shippers Council installs an antenna in Kousseri

The regional branch for the Far North of Cameroon coupled with a life center will be beneficial for transporters in the Douala/Kribi/Ndjamena corridor as well as trade players who will see the security of their goods.

The National Council of Shippers of Cameroon (Cncc) inaugurated on September 27, 2023, its regional branch for the Far North. The structure was built at the same time as a community center. The Kousseri Life Center and the regional branch of the Cncc are located on the Douala/Kribi/Ndjamena corridor, at a place called Nguéli, in the Logone and Chari department, 500 meters from Ndjamena, the Chadian capital.

The infrastructure covers an area of 5 hectares and includes an administrative block, a secure parking lot with a capacity of 200 trucks, an accommodation center with 40 rooms for the benefit of transporters and similar professionals, a refectory with 60 places, a health center, a prayer space, a truck maintenance workshop, etc. This project aims to reduce uncontrolled parking of large aircraft in the city, limit accidents of large aircraft in the Douala-Bangui and Douala-Ndjamena corridors, and provide shippers with a comfortable rest center. « They are intended for players in cross-border trade for goods to or from the Republic of Chad, a landlocked country. These two buildings offer users a modern living and working environment for the safety of their goods. The development of these infrastructures complies with the commitments of the State of Cameroon to contribute to the facilitation of traffic, and to the promotion of Cameroonian corridors for goods in transit to the countries of the landlocked sub-region. explainAuguste Mbappe Penda, Director General of the Cncc.

This infrastructure of National Council of Shippers of Cameroon intervenes as part of a program launched by the structure for several years, aiming to build life centers for the benefit of sub-regional and regional carriers. There are already those in Dibamba in Sanaga Maritime and Ngoulentang in the suburbs of Yaoundé. After Kousseri, it will be the turn of Ngaoundéré where the laying of the first stone of the Life Center is announced for the month of October 2023.
