NEW YORK — A woman was the victim of a robbery and violent attack while inside a Manhattan subway, the New York City Police announced. The beating took the victim to the hospital.
The incident occurred on Wednesday, September 20 at around 9:45 pm when the 24-year-old girl was on a B line subway approaching the 145th Street station, the uniformed officer said. At that point, the suspect approached the victim, grabbed her hair, punched her in the face, and threw her to the ground before stealing her cell phone and fleeing the station.
The young woman ended up with bruises on her face and lacerations on her hand and was taken by paramedics to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in stable condition, authorities added.
