The Minister Delegate for Disabled People Fadila Khattabi, and former MP for Côte-d’Or, was convicted last June for non-payment of overtime to a former colleague. A bailiff has been appointed to pay the back pay.
A bailiff was mandated to obtain from the Minister Delegate in charge of disabled people, Fadila Khattabi, payment of back pay for her former colleague. This is what Agence France-Presse learned on Wednesday from the latter’s lawyer, Maître Jean-Baptiste Gavignet.
The former deputy for Côte-d’Or and president of the Social Affairs Committee at the National Assembly was ordered on June 23 by the Dijon industrial tribunal to pay €6,522.27 “as back pay for overtime” to her former parliamentary colleague, who worked for her from 2017 to 2019. The cause was unpaid overtime.
“I absolutely have my conscience on my side. I recruited a friend as a collaborator. She had done my campaign. She was looking for a job, so I accepted. I knew that she had neither the profile or skillsthe person concerned reacted to this in our program Dimanche en politique, broadcast on September 24.
“I requested payment twice, but got no response”, assured AFP Master Jean-Baptiste Gavignet. The latter indicated that he had appointed a bailiff this Tuesday, confirming information from the Dijon Actualités site. The bailiff “will issue an order to pay”. The minister did not appeal the decision, which makes payment of these sums due.
Contacted by AFP, the mandated bailiff refused any comment, citing “the obligation of confidentiality”.
The minister’s services, for their part, indicated that there was no “never had a refusal” to pay and that it was a “usual deadline”. “Payment will be made by the end of the month“, they assured.
The minister’s lawyer, Mathilde Gaupillat, claimed to have not received the certificate of non-appeal, which makes the judgment enforceable, “only September 5”, with the month of August slowing down services. The documents necessary for payment were sent to the National Assembly, in charge of paying. Fadila Khattabi was an MP at the time of the judgment.
The Chamber will publish the salary slip at the end of the month, promised Maître Gaupillat, referring to “super normal delays”.
