Sharjah, September 27, 2017 – His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, opened this afternoon the activities of the 52nd edition of the “Middle East Watches and Jewelry Exhibition”, which continues until the first of next October.
His Highness toured the corridors of the exhibition organized by the Expo Center Sharjah, with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and with the participation of more than 500 local and international companies and brands. It extends over an area of 30,000 square metres, and was briefed on the latest designs and creations of jewellery, goldwork, watches, gold, diamonds, precious stones and pearls. .
During his tour of the exhibition, His Highness met with the most prominent exhibitors and officials of participating Emirati companies and foreign pavilions, who provided an explanation of the latest methods and innovative methods in the gold and jewelry industry and trade market, and their latest developments and trends at the regional and global levels.
His Highness visited the Emirates Goldsmiths Workshop and listened to an explanation of the activities offered by the workshop and the designs for assembling shells.
The “Middle East Watch and Jewelry Exhibition” is the first and largest of its kind on the agenda of specialized trade exhibitions in the UAE and the region and provides the opportunity for its visitors to acquire rare precious pieces, purchase directly from exhibitors, in addition to concluding deals and building partnerships, enhancing the presence of manufacturers in the region’s markets, and exchanging experiences and opinions. The 52nd edition of the “Middle East Watches and Jewelry Exhibition” receives participation from several countries, most notably India, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, France, Singapore, China, Japan, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Lebanon.
During his tour of the exhibition, His Highness was accompanied by Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Center Sharjah, Salem Ali Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Municipal Council, and Mohammed Ahmed Al Awadi, Director General.
