Unknown perpetrators blew up an ATM in Lurup on Wednesday night. It is unclear how much money they stole. During their escape they lost a bunch of banknotes.
It must have been a deafening bang that occurred around 4:30 a.m. in the area of a Postbank branch on Luruper Hauptstrasse. Previously unknown perpetrators had blown up an ATM there. The pressure wave from the detonation was so enormous that glass in the building shattered. Within a few minutes, several patrol cars were on site.
Because it was feared that explosive residues could pose a danger, a demolition expert from the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) was also alerted. Several patrol cars searched for the perpetrators in the area.

How much loot they took is currently unclear. On their escape they lost a large chunk of euro banknotes. The deployed police officers collected them again.
