The Korean peninsula is on the brink of nuclear war, North Korea has warned, AFP reported.
The warning was issued by North Korea’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Kim Son. He said the Korean Peninsula is on the brink of nuclear war because of the rash actions of the US.
“The imprudent actions and continued hysteria of the US and its allies about a nuclear confrontation are leading the Korean Peninsula to a military situation on the brink of nuclear war,” Kim said in a speech to the UN General Assembly.
He criticized Washington’s policy in Northeast Asia, saying that it leads to a dangerous situation that is the result of the actions of the US, which is trying to achieve its hegemonic ambitions by all means, underestimating North Korean power.
According to the North Korean representative, the ruling forces in South Korea, which are trying to impose a nuclear war against his country, are also responsible for the dangerous situation.
Seoul is obsessed with its willing submission to the US and with fratricidal confrontation, the North Korean diplomat added.
