Africa Golden Bank obtains approval from the Ministry of Finance

The financial establishment belonging to billionaire Samu foyou sera the 19th bank in the country.

The news had been expected for several months. Last March, reliable information reported a favorable opinion from the Central African Banking Commission (Cobac) regarding the creation of Africa Goldan Bank. But after the regulator of the banking sector in the Cemac zone, the approval of the Minister of Finance was still required to integrate the Cameroonian banking market. From reliable sources, it is now done.

Previously made up of 18 banks, the local market now has 19. Africa Goldan Bank is the 19the credit institution of Cameroon. The project is led by Cameroonian billionaire Samuel Foyou, alongside other Cameroonian businessmen such as Sylvestre Ngouchinghe of Congelcam and Thimoté Ngamo of Cogéni.

The banking sector is a new string to Samuel Foyou’s bow, whose activities are already very diversified. He is the owner of Fermencam (a distillery), Unalor, a match production company, Plasticam (manufacturing of plastics and cardboard), Sotrasel (production of cooking salt), Biscuiterie Samuel Foyou (BSF) , and the Moore Paragon printing company, from Brasaf, a brewing company launched in 2022. The man is also the owner of Krystal Palace, the first 5-star hotel in the city of Douala.
