Blizzard Entertainment announced today (27th) that Blizzard founding veteran Chris Metzen will return as executive creative director of the veteran MMORPG “World of Warcraft” (WoW) with immediate effect after returning to Blizzard at the end of last year.
In his career, Chris Metzen has participated in plot conception, product development and other matters for “StarCraft”, “World of Warcraft”, “Diablo”, “Strike” and so on. He is also a highly respected designer in the WoW community. After leaving Blizzard in 2016, he still cared about the gaming industry and returned to Blizzard as a creative consultant in 2022.

According to Blizzard’s announcement, Metzen’s current main focus is to support Blizzard’s “World of Warcraft” leadership to create the next generation of adventure experiences, and he and the team will also attend this year’s BlizzCon (BlizzCon).
