The Netherlands to Transfer F-16 Fighters to Ukraine: Minister Ollongren Reveals Plan

The Netherlands plans to transfer the first batch of F-16 fighters to Ukraine in 2024.

Details: The minister explained that the Netherlands is transitioning to the F-35, and that is why it can supply the F-16. According to her, the same applies to Norway and Denmark.

The timing of the delivery of the F-16 will also depend on how much time it will take to train Ukrainian pilots. According to Ollongren, the training will last from six to eight months. And this is much less time than the Netherlands spends on training its pilots.

She also said that a training center is being created in Romania, which they are trying to launch as quickly as possible.

But, most importantly, according to Ollongren, this is the signal that the Netherlands sends not only to Kyiv, but also to Moscow and the Kremlin.
