London –
Manager Chelsea Mauricio Pochettino criticism of Todd Boehly regarding dressing room interventions. He denied that happened.
After the defeat to Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge last weekend, Chelsea’s dressing room heated up after Boehly’s presence there. Reportedly Boehly and co-owner Behdad Eghbali greeted the players one by one.
This has been Boehly’s habit since buying the West London club last season. Unfortunately, this habit is not liked by all players, because some feel uncomfortable with Boehly’s presence.
It is natural that Boehly is considered the culprit of Chelsea’s poor performance this season. Moreover, a number of Chelsea transfers so far have not produced maximum results.
Regarding the slanted opinion towards the club owner, Pochettino defended Boehly and Eghbaly. According to him, what the two of them did was a form of concern for the club and that made Pochettino really happy.
“I like it when the owner comes into the dressing room. During my coaching career at Espanyol, Southampton, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain, I liked it when the owner entered the dressing room,” said Pochettino on Sky Sports.
“How they approach players is the most important. If they do it well and appropriately, then they will be very welcome.”
“They always come with Paul and Laurence (sporting director), Behdad, Boehly too. I don’t see it as something bad.”
“For me it’s good if they always share stories with us and greet the players. Maybe things would be different if they came with a specific purpose or just to give a lecture.”
“But the way they come to the dressing room, they are welcomed. They own this club, so I think they deserve to do whatever they want. They always come when we win, lose or are in trouble.”
