Many emergency services were deployed to an apartment building on Tarwekamp in Diemen at the beginning of the evening. According to a witness, the apartment complex has also been evacuated. A police spokesperson cannot say anything about the action, only that it is an ongoing investigation.
Around 6:20 p.m., the police, fire brigade and ambulance personnel were called to the Tarwekamp. The Defense Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service (EOD) and the Explosive Safety Team Leader (TEV) were also called. The signal ‘Grip 1’ was issued for the action, which means that managers from various emergency services are working together.
It is not yet clear what the precise reason was for the action. The police spokesperson for the National Unit says that this is an ongoing investigation and therefore cannot provide any further information. A large part of the street has been cordoned off by the emergency services.
