Irianto Absent: Indonesian U-24 National Team’s Challenge Against Uzbekistan at 2022 Asian Games

Apart from Irianto, all Indonesian U-24 national team players can be used to play against Uzbekistan.

The Indonesian U-24 national team was unable to play Rachmat Irianto when facing Uzbekistan in the last 16 of the 2022 Asian Games at the Shangcheng Sports Center Stadium, Thursday (28/9). The Persib Bandung pillar was absent due to accumulated yellow cards.

Irianto’s absence hampered the strength of the Indonesian U-24 national team. Remember, the former Persebaya Surabaya is a mainstay player in the midfield.

“Yes, it’s true that Irianto is absent,” said Indonesian national team manager Endri Erawan when contacted by media crew.

Irianto was the only figure who did not compete against Uzbekistan. Meanwhile, the other players are ready to play the duel.

In the match against Uzbekistan, the Indonesian U-24 national team received additional strength. Ramadhan Sananta joined Indra Sjafri’s troops.

Previously, Sananta did not play during the Indonesian U-24 national team’s group stage matches. He was forced to be absent because Persis Solo did not allow him to go.

The Indonesian U-24 national team advanced to the top 16 of the 2022 Asian Games via the best third place ranking. Meanwhile, Uzbekistan advanced with Group C champion status.
