Nine people, including eight immigrants from countries located in sub-Saharan Africa, died in a traffic accident that occurred on Sunday night in central Tunisia, according to what the Civil Protection Service announced.
The accident, which also left five people injured, including four from sub-Saharan Africa, occurred when a small truck they were transporting overturned on a road linking the cities of Nasrallah and the Mhairi house in the state of Kairouan, according to the regional director of civil protection in the state.
This type of accident is common in Tunisia, especially in rural areas where many workers use inappropriate but low-cost means of transportation to go to work in the fields.
